Welcome to my website, my name is David Padden M.D., a Johns Hopkins fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in total and partial joint replacement of the hip and knee. I am one of the original pioneers in robotic total hip replacement surgery in the United States, having performed over four hundred of these procedures at present, and one of the top three surgeons in the U.S. & world in experience with this exciting technology. I am one of only a few instructors in these applications: both training and certifying surgeons across the world in the performance of robotic-assisted total hip and partial knee replacement. My specialty services include state of the art muscle-sparing (no muscles cut) antero-lateral robotic total hip replacement surgery, computer navigated total knee replacement, robotic partial (unicondylar, bicondylar, patellofemoral) knee replacement, complex revision (re-do) joint replacement (hip and knee), and arthroscopic surgery of the knee. My particular specialty interest lies also in the treatment of both avascular necrosis (osteonecrosis) of the hip and knee as well as dysplastic hips (developmental dysplasia of the hip). Furthermore, I am also one of only a few surgeons in South Florida performing complex revisions of the hip and knee joint. I hope this website is helpful in keeping both current and future patients informed and updated about the particular problems I am passionate about treating. I assure them I am a leader and current trendsetter in arthritis and reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee, and dedicated to utilizing the most cutting-edge options available for the treatment of their particular disorder.
